Some babies find it easier to fall asleep when it isn't completely quiet. Steady noises or gentle melodies can become a fixed part of your bedtime routine. The LIINI® Sleep Aid 2.0 offers 20 soothing sounds for exactly that.

White noise for babies: a steady sound as a sleep aid

White noise is a steady, even hiss, like a hairdryer, rain or a fan. In the womb, it was never completely quiet for your baby. Some babies find a steady sound soothing after birth, too. It also masks sudden noises around the home, such as a door or voices. The best way to find out whether it helps your baby is to try it. Nobody can promise that it will, whether with sounds or with lullabies.

How the LIINI® model 2.0 works

Choose one of the 20 sounds, set a low volume and place the device a little way from the cot. It charges with the included fabric USB-C cable, so you can take it with you when you travel, too.

There's also model 1.0 in white, with lullabies and noises such as womb sounds or a hairdryer.

For daytime naps in the baby cradle, place the device next to the basket, not inside it. Here's how to use it safely:

  • Quiet: think background sound, not a soundtrack.
  • At a distance: not in the cot and not right next to your baby's head.
  • Not loud all night: play it mainly to help your baby fall asleep, or turn it down afterwards.
  • Out of reach: keep the charging cable and holder well away from your baby.

Frequently asked questions

Is white noise harmful for my baby?

What matters is the volume, distance and duration. Set the device as quietly as possible, place it at a distance from the cot and never right next to your baby's head. Don't let it play loudly all night; use it mainly to help your baby fall asleep. If you're unsure, ask your paediatrician or midwife.

How does the LIINI® sleep aid work?

Choose a sound, set a low volume and place the device at a distance from the cot. You charge model 2.0 via USB-C with the included fabric cable. A fabric holder is also included.

What sounds are there?

The LIINI® model 2.0 has 20 soothing sounds: gentle melodies and noises. Model 1.0 plays lullabies and noises such as womb sounds or a hairdryer. Try out which one your baby responds to most calmly, then stick with that sound for a while.

From what age is a sleep aid suitable for babies?

There's no fixed age recommendation for LIINI® devices. How you use it matters more than age: quietly, at a distance from the cot, not loud all night, and with the charging cable and holder out of your baby's reach. If you have questions about your baby's sleep, your midwife or paediatrician can help.
