Functionality & Fashion

Don’t worry – we too have been looking for a stylish diaper backpack forever – unfortunately without success. The LIINI® changing bag combines incomparable functionality with style. YOU deserve to look good as a mom & dad.

LIINI Diaper Bag, Beige, rPET

A changing bag you wear as a backpack spreads the weight across both shoulders and leaves your hands free: for the pushchair, the balance bike or your child's hand. The LIINI® diaper backpack gives you 29 litres of space, a separate wet compartment and insulated pockets for bottles. The outer fabric is rPET, a polyester made from recycled PET bottles.

Inside, you'll find two insulated bottle pockets, a compartment for the LIINI® bottle warmer, a separate laptop compartment and a dedicated pacifier pocket. On the outside are the separate wet compartment for wet and dirty clothes and, depending on the model, a zipped pocket for wipes. According to the manual, that gives you room for two baby bottles, the bottle warmer, ten nappies and other essentials. Some models also have a built-in USB-C port with its own pocket for a power bank.

Packing list for your changing bag

What you take depends on your baby's age and how long you'll be out. This list covers a normal day out:

  • Nappies: better a few more than you think you'll need
  • Wet wipes and tissues
  • Changing mat for on the go
  • Nappy cream
  • Change of clothes: bodysuit, trousers, socks, and a whole outfit for toddlers
  • Wet bag for dirty laundry, in case the wet compartment is full
  • Bottles, plus pre-portioned formula powder or breast milk
  • Bottle warmer: a battery-powered bottle warmer if you want to warm milk on the go without a plug socket
  • Pacifier: a pacifier with a replaceable teat and a spare
  • Burp cloth or muslin
  • Snacks and water for you, and later for your child
  • Once your baby starts solids: bib, spoon and purée, warmed on the go in the battery-powered baby food warmer
  • Sun hat or woolly hat, depending on the weather
  • A small toy or a picture book
  • ID, your child's health insurance card, your phone

Pack by compartment: anything you need to grab quickly, such as wipes, goes in the outside pocket, and the pacifier goes in its own pocket. Bottles go in the insulated pockets and dirty laundry in the wet compartment. To find out how to prepare milk when you're out and about, read our guide Preparing a baby bottle on the go.

Diaper backpack or changing bag?

Classic changing bags hang over one shoulder or on the pushchair. A backpack carries differently:

BackpackShoulder bag
Weightspread across both shoulderson one shoulder
Handsfree, even when you bend downusually free, but the bag tends to slide forwards
Accesstake it off or open it on the pushchairquick to reach into
With a carrierbaby in front, backpack behindstrap and carrier easily get in each other's way

If you get around a lot on foot, by bus and train or with a baby carrier, a backpack usually gives you more freedom of movement. A shoulder bag is handy if it mostly hangs on the pushchair and you often want to reach in quickly. Thanks to its metal hooks, you can hang the LIINI® backpack on the pushchair too.

Sustainable rPET

rPET is polyester made from recycled PET bottles. Every LIINI® rPET backpack contains 23 bottles of 500 ml. Compared with conventional polyester, rPET needs up to 60% less energy, and CO₂ emissions are 32% lower.

But a diaper backpack is also sustainable when you use it for a long time. The adjustable straps fit heights from 140 to 200 cm, so you can share it between you as parents. On top of that, you get a 24-month guarantee from receipt of order.

Models and colours

The LIINI® backpack comes in beige and olive rPET, in cream with handles and details in vegan leather, and in brown corduroy with a corduroy exterior and vegan leather. You'll also find models from the NAPPY by LIINI® line.

Frequently asked questions

How much fits in the backpack?

The LIINI® backpack holds 29 litres and measures around 40 × 32 × 23 cm. According to the manual, there's room for two baby bottles, a bottle warmer, ten nappies and other essentials. On top of that, there's a laptop compartment, a pacifier pocket and a separate wet compartment for dirty clothes.

Is a changing mat included?

Whether a changing mat is included is stated in the product description of each model. The changing mat for on the go is also available on its own in beige and olive in our changing accessories, for example as a second mat for the car or for the grandparents.

Can I attach the backpack to the pushchair?

Yes. The LIINI® backpack comes with metal attachments for the pushchair, so you can hang it on the handlebar. Make sure the weight doesn't tip the pushchair backwards, especially when your child climbs out.

Is the backpack water-repellent?

The separate wet compartment of the LIINI® backpack is specified as waterproof. It keeps wet and dirty things away from everything else. No waterproof rating is given for the backpack as a whole. So in heavy rain, it's best to put your laptop and documents in an extra cover.

How do I wash the backpack?

According to the manual, by hand only, with a detergent for textiles. Then let it air dry, not in the tumble dryer. Empty all the compartments first. Small marks can often be removed with just a damp cloth.

Changing bag as a backpack or a shoulder bag: which is more practical?

A backpack spreads the weight across both shoulders and leaves your hands free. That helps if you get around a lot on foot, by bus and train or with a carrier. A shoulder bag is quicker to open and works well if it mostly hangs on the pushchair. With its metal hooks, the LIINI® backpack can hang on the pushchair too.
